What is Forward?
Forward is a digital music distribution service for record labels of any size. We offer technology and expertise to maximize your global reach, get your music heard, grow your fan base, and maintain control of your career.
How does digital music distribution work?
As a distribution platform, Forward receives music from artists or labels and delivers it to various digital stores and streaming services. We provide promotion tools and best practices to optimize your music releases.
How do I get paid for my music?
We update the payments section of your account when we receive payments from music stores. You can withdraw your earnings via bank transfer or PayPal once you've accrued more than €50.
Can I switch to Forward from another distributor?
Yes, it's a straightforward process. Upload your content to us, and we'll deliver it to digital services. Your streaming numbers and listener data will remain intact.
What's the deal?
We require a one-year contract with a 90-day rolling term. We take a 15% share of the revenue we collect for you, with no additional fees for distribution, uploading, or storing your releases.
What if I want to terminate my distribution agreement?
If you terminate, we'll remove your catalog from our service and digital partners within 90 days. You can also choose to remove specific territories or content without terminating the entire agreement.
Is Forward's service open to individual artists?
Our service is primarily for record labels. You can set a label name for each release, which will be displayed on digital stores and services.
How long does it take for my releases to reach stores?
We recommend uploading content 3-4 weeks before your target release date. Our review process takes 1-2 business days, after which your release is sent to stores for them to make live.
What is the Content Review process?
We review releases for audio quality, metadata, artwork, and compliance with digital store guidelines to ensure high-quality distribution.
What if my release is rejected?
We'll notify you by email with the reason for rejection. You can then make necessary changes and resubmit your release for review.
Can I make changes to an uploaded release?
Yes, our system provides tools to make changes to your release before or after approval. You can also remove live releases directly from our platform.
How does the DMCA Takedown Service work?
We scan the web for copyright-infringing content, verify findings, and automatically send DMCA takedown messages. If necessary, we work to remove pirate sites from search results.
Can I mix and master my music through your platform?
For an additional fee, you can access mixing and mastering services from renowned studios that work with many well-known labels and artists.
